Privacy Policy
FlowGuard Solutions Limited ("FlowGuard", "we", "us", "our") provides drainage-monitoring, flood-intelligence and property risk-assessment products and services. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, Client Portal and connected devices, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights available to you.
This policy is intended to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 ("NDPA") and comparable regimes. Where you interact with us, FlowGuard acts as the data controller unless stated otherwise.
Information we collect
- Information you provide — your name, email address, phone number, organisation, job title and the content of messages when you contact us, request an assessment or create an account.
- Account information — credentials and settings needed to create, secure and operate your FlowGuard Client Portal account.
- Property information — details you give us about a property or estate (name, location, type, size, drainage characteristics and stated concerns) so we can assess and monitor it.
- Sensor and telemetry data — readings from Sentinel devices and related infrastructure data. This is primarily operational data about property and drainage conditions; where it can be linked to you or your organisation, we treat it in line with this policy.
- Usage and device information — technical data such as browser type, device, IP address and pages viewed, collected to operate, secure and improve our services.
- Communications — records of your correspondence with us, including support and service requests.
Legal bases for processing
We process personal information where we have a lawful basis to do so, including: performance of a contract with you or your organisation; your consent (which you may withdraw at any time); our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving our services; and compliance with legal obligations.

- To create and secure accounts, and to deliver flood-risk alerts and service notifications.
- To operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve our website, devices and products.
- To send service updates and, where permitted, information you have asked to receive. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.

Cookies and analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site and may use limited analytics to understand and improve usage. Where required, we seek your consent for non-essential cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share it with: service providers and processors who host, maintain or support our services under written safeguards; professional advisers; authorities or third parties where required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of people and property; and, in connection with a business transfer, a successor entity. Any such sharing is limited to what is necessary for the relevant purpose.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection consistent with the NDPA and applicable law.
Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to provide the services, and to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures — including access controls, encryption in transit and monitoring — to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access your personal information; to correct or update it; to request deletion or restriction; to object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@flowguard.ng; we will respond within the timeframes required by law.

Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
